Programs offered at Burton Academy of Beauty Culture and Hair Design. Cosmetology and Esthetics. Cosmetology: Prepare for a future as a licensed Cosmetologist (dates/costs)  Cosmetology is dealing with the study of the art and science of skin, hair, and nails. At Burton Academy we foster an understanding of the chemistry of hair, nails and skin. We also focus on beauty and cutting edge techniques for style and design. Our Cosmetology course cultivates the "big picture" approach to the industry. We cover all aspects of developing the art and science of beauty through our program. Our program is broken into two main portions: - Portion one: The first portion of the cosmetology course is spent in the classroom with lectures and demonstrations. Students also practice with a variety of techniques on mannequins.
- Portion two: The second portion of the cosmetology course, the student is introduced to the student clinic floor where the student will begin working with clients in a supervised environment. Skill and knowledge learned in Portion one will be put into practice - with hands-on experience!
All subject matter is presented in the form of instructor lecture, class assignments, videotape presentations, hands-on demonstrations, class discussion, and assignments. Instruction will also be complemented with lectures from guest artists, industry representatives and salon owners or managers.Our cosmetology course prepares students to be placed in a Salon or Day spa. Instructors Training The instructor training course covers 600 hours of instruction. Students aquire a thorough knowledge of teaching techniques, principles, evaluation methods and all aspects of school operation. Counseling is given on the student's progress and development. The overall objective is the training of students in the principles and practices of teaching. Our purpose is to prepare student teachers to ENTER UPON, PROGRESS IN AND MAKE A CONTIBUTION TO THE PROFESSION. In compliance with an Idaho State Instructor's License that is required to teach.

Esthetics: Prepare for a future as a licensed Esthetician : December 9th, Janurry13th 2009, February 3rd 2009 ,March 3rd, 2009 The study of Esthetics is a full-service program studying the scientific method of skin care and the appreciation of beauty. The Burton Academy provides quality training, student instruction, and demonstration and practices so that students are able to master the art of a professional esthetician upon completion of the program. The Burton Academy Esthetics program teaches the student to analyze and treat various skin problems through the art of massages and the use of machines and products. The student will be familiar with make-up techniques, hair removal techniques and the business practices of a skin care operation.
